Javier’s Vision

Javier León has seen that developing better leadership in Latin American churches has successfully resulted in stronger, healthier congregations that have grown and been a more positive, stronger impact in their communities.

He has seen for himself the stark difference between congregations he has served and helped to develop an eldership in comparison to churches that do not have this leadership and guidance. He has seen leaders mature in every area of ministry and guide their congregations to a renewed and happy relationship with God and with others.

In Javier’s work and over many years in Latin America, he has established The International Center for Christian Leadership. Through the Center, Javier has applied his experience, training and education to develop a proven method that identifies and grows church leadership, stewardship, discipleship and ministry.

The areas of focus are:

Leadership Development

The process teaches churches to develop their own leadership internally so they will be able to: Identify, Disciple, Train and Equip the members of their congregation in order to grow and better serve within their congregation and beyond. Javier’s effective program of leadership development helps individuals to learn about themselves, others, and grow in their relationship skills and abilities while adapting to new circumstances and opportunities.

From a Biblical perspective, Javier’s leadership development process addresses:

  • Personal Relationship with God’s Disciples
  • Discipleship and Development
  • Building and Nurturing Ministry Teams
  • Vision and Strategic Thinking
  • Needs-Based Coaching
  • Conflict Resolution for Leaders
  • Family and Ministry
  • Planning and Evaluating Ministries
  • Self-Supporting Ministries
  • The Elders God Wants in Every Congregation
  • Elders Mentoring Elders
  • Training and Certification in Various Ministry Areas

Coaching and Mentoring

Coaching and Mentoring establishes relationships that promote personal growth, life enrichment and enhanced spiritual aptitudes where the trainees assume responsibility for their transformation.

Topics and guidelines include:

    • Spiritual Formation
    • Develop Accountability
    • Family and Ministry
    • Leading Ministry Teams
    • Building and Maintaining Relationships
    • Creative Conflict Resolution
    • Learning to Delegate
    • Healthy Spirituality
    • Embracing Change
    • Establishing Credibility

Resources

The task includes gathering, designing, producing and distributing resources that promote solid Biblical instruction. While most North American churches enjoy great access to such resources, the Latin American churches typically do not. As difficult as it might be to imagine, these valuable and much needed resources are scarce. Javier relies on them to train and equip brethren in different areas of ministry like Children, Youth, Marriage and Worship.

Resources include:

  • Bible Teaching Lessons
  • Ministry Killers – How to Overcome
  • Leading Like Jesus
  • Conflict Resolution for Families
  • Mentoring the Next Generation
  • Coaching in Christian Leadership
  • Resources and Training in Youth Ministry
  • Marriage Enrichment
  • Family Issues, Life-Changing Attitudes
  • Strategy and Vision
  • Strategic Planning
  • Bible Class Curriculums (all ages)
  • Online and Face-to-Face Training
  • Development of additional resources as needed
